Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams developer Black Forest Games have put its side-scrolling action effort Ravensdale on Kickstarter.

The team is looking for $500,000 in funding and as of press time 907 backers have pledged $25,887 towards its goal. There are 29 days left on the clock.

Ravensdale allows up to 4 players in local or online play and is set in a steampunk-ish fantasy universe where orcs carry furnaces to power motor guns and goblins propel themselves about with rockets.

You can find out more the game through the Kickstarter page and a previous post from Brenna.

Ravensdale will launch on PC, and while the team said it could consider other platforms, releasing the game is “top priority and any other platforms will be considered after that goal has been met.”

Ah, BFG… not gotten enough money from Giana Sisters?

Did I ever mention how they ignored multiple emails, forum posts and even refused to accept a physical letter? They shipped my physical reward to the wrong address and when they finally got back to me after I asked whether others had experienced something like that as well and suggested collective legal action, they did apologize but also said they wouldn’t ship it immediately because they currently didn’t have the funds for it.
When you can’t gather the 5€ to ship something to somebody who should’ve received it about two months before and didn’t because you screwed up… major things aren’t right.

Which is why I am really looking forward to seeing how this turns out…
I for one obviously won’t support it and it will be at least somewhat of an indicator of how many others experienced similar things. (And maybe were also dissatisfied with the state Giana Sisters was in when it was released. And partly possibly still is. I only bothered to check for patches in the first 2-3 months)

    Hi there,

first of all, thank you to the team at vg247 for the article!

@sh4dow: I would like to apologize that you had such a bad experience with the rewards from the previous campaign. I am not going to try to explain it away. Frankly, when we did our last campaign, it was new territory for us (distribution, ordering, production of material rewards etc.), but that does not change that we failed, in some cases to deliver the rewards in any timely fashion.

We have done our best to deliver all missing shipments (except for owls and figurines, which are pending from china) before we started this campaign. I can understand that you are upset about what happened. It certainly wasn’t our intent to be the cause for such frustration.

Again, apologies for this experience. We have used the experience from the mistakes of the last campaign to be better prepared for this one and will do our best to ensure something like it won’t happen again.

    All the best,
    BFG Niko
