Fable Anniversary – Fable 1 HD remake out this holiday

Tuesday, 4th June 2013 14:27 GMT By Stephany Nunneley

Lionhead Studios has announced Fable Anniversary for Xbox 360.

The remastering includes new graphics, almost instant loading times, all-new interface, Achievements, Xbox SmartGlass support and the Lost Chapters DLC.

“We’re really excited to bring Fable to Xbox 360,” said Ted Timmins, lead designer on Fable Anniversary. “It’s the game that the Fable community has been asking for, so we wanted to make sure Fable Anniversary delivered the definitive Fable experience for both long-time fans and newcomers to the franchise.”

A new save system has also been implemented, and the Achievements noted above are based on choices and consequences – there’s even a leaderboard for chicken punting.

Fable Anniversary launches on Xbox 360 this holiday season.

Yeah! Looking forward to that. Always wanted to play it, but never wanted to buy the GonD version.

Would have preferred a PC version but after the Xbox One comes out I’m sure I can get a 360 for dirt cheap.

    So… No Xbox One release?!

MS really want you to keep your 360 under your TV don’t they?

Wooo, I can get all the disappointment in HD!

Naaah, just kidding. The first Fable was always the best, and I actually loved the game for what it was. Can’t wait to see it in HD.

Loved Fable 2 and 3. Didn’t even finish the first.

Felt horribly linear and quite boring by comparison.

@12: Fable 3 was bland pap and with the addition of The Lost Chapters, the first iteration was *clearly* the best.

Damn. I played Fable on the PC back in its day, but not the DLC. This remake is looking very tempting. Let’s see how it develops, and what it ends up costing.

I like this news and i will get it, i love this game, and for me the second one is as good as the first, dont understand the complains about number 2, but i do agree with number 3, but i understand they tried to implement something fresh into the game, which i didnt like, but overall this is an strong series a one that i do love on the microsoft side of things, and i cannot wait for number 4

The first Fable is the best Fable story wise, the other two games can’t really compare. They have never had a villain as good or as interesting as Jack of Blades, and I look forward to playing this.

I have the original and the lost chapters for Xbox, and Lost chapters for PC and it looks good for an old game, but this new revamp really deserves a PC version and I hope they release it for PC one day.
