The official Facebook page of EA Sports FIFA videogame series has posted a picture confirming that it’s going to show the next-generation of the popular sports game during tomorrow’s Xbox event where Microsoft is confirmed to reveal its next home console. VG247 will be covering it all live as it happens so be sure to bookmark this thread.

Holy Batman, the two biggest franchises on Earth at the Nextbox reveal.

If MS have locked up promo rights for FIFA in addition to COD, then Sony is bang in trouble.

First sports game on a new console always look like crap. Compare the first NBA 2K on the 360 to NBA 2K13. I do expect better crowd visuals and reactions.

@1 They’ll never will. EA and Acti will not miss any opportunity to make their most profitable franchises available everywhere.

That whole EA / MS relationship thingy is looking more and more likely. I still don’t understand why EA had no presence during Sony event unless…

    @3 Read: “promo rights”…

@1 It’s doubtful FIFA would permit their licence to be limited in such a fashion. Whilst an exclusive would sound beneficial to MS, to FIFA it means narrowing a lucrative revenue stream.

@4 Peter Moore is always Microsoft. Sony beware.

FIFA sells far too well on Playstation for this to be exclusive

Peter Moore is also answerable to share holders. He needs to show value for money not bias.

Exclusivity? Very doubtful. FIFA license is not cheap.

Are you considering Early Exclusive ?!, for example Xbox Next launches this year along side with Fifa, but no PS4 version.

Fifa comes to the PS4 in mid-2014 or something.

Fifa is not that big franchise it doesnt even sell much compared to gta, AC, etc. But COD is propably the best selling franchise on earth at this point. And the main point is as a gamer why wuold any gamer buy nextbox because it has fifa and cod. They are not bad games but they dont change almost at all. As I could say that you only need one fifa per generation and two COD games per generation :)

Fifa one of the biggest franchises? Give me a break :) . Cod will still come to every platform and fifa wont even have an affect on console sales because there will be tons of new next gen games, and nobody will buy the same fifa game with enchanced graphics and couple of new animations added to it.

@14 “Fifa is not that big franchise ”
@15 “Fifa one of the biggest franchises?”

    Is this a wind-up? lol

Sony right now is in the position of damage control. They even released teaser for hardware TODAY.

Ohh… Shmony… Shmony. Poor Shmony. You sure need a TON of exclusives at E3 or else, die like SEGA.

I highly doubt that Fifa is going to be exclusive. It sells too well on PlayStation and I don’t think they would want to potentially limit their market. If I’m wrong I’ll eat my hat. :P

Nice to see third parties attending, but I’m far more interested in what Microsoft has to offer for themselves.
Still, looking forward to the reveal of the new CoD.

MS only gonna show multi-pla games .. that won’t help xbox, where’s the 1st studious MS?

BTW FIFA already confirmed for ps3,x360, pc and next gen so the only exclusive u see is ”timed dlc”

    #26 2 years ago
  27. Wen3

Microsoft simply lacks exclusives haha fifa and Cod are multiplat games every body knows that

FIFA is so big on PS that EA can afford to let the IP look after itself on PS3 and PS4. Perfectly sensible for EA to tie up with MS and go big on 720 promotion.
