WesterosCraft: Game of Thrones Minecraft project is a colossal achievement
WesterosCraft, the ambitious but very lovely Game of Thrones Minecraft project is the talk of the town today, thanks to an impressive gallery of screens showing off a recreated King’s Landing. The attention to detail is rather nuts.
The shots surfaced via Reddit yesterday and enjoyed a lot of interest. If you want to check out more images and video footage of the project in action, head over to the WesterosCraft homepage and show them some love.
Here are the images of King’s Landing – Thanks Kotaku:

How do people do this? It’s some kind of editor right? They can’t place block by block. It would take years… I tried to recreate one city of The Heritage trilogy (for the ones who know, the dwarven city that I don’t even remember the name now, wich was a mountain inside a mountain.) with the creative mode, and it took me 2 weeks to do so little…

How is this even possible? O____o
Although it will never be that beautiful in Minecraft. They are probably using custom shader mods or sphaxcraft mod.
but it’s gorgeous anyway. So much work.
P.S. now we need some million creepers there

We don’t use an editor for any buildings or structures, they are all built lovingly by hand. The terrain and the like are modified with things like WorldEdit or Voxel. The key is having a great community with organization and a passion for what you’re building!
