UK Charts: DmC topples FIFA 13 for number one spot

FIFA 13′s reign as king is over (for now), as Capcom’s long-awaited slasher pips EA to the post. Dante’s return sees him slice his way straight to the top.

Elsewhere, Far Cry 3 has dropped from second to fourth, Hitman: Absolution falls four places to eighth and Halo 4 drops from seventh to the abyss.

Here is the full top 20:

1. DmC: Devil May Cry
2. FIFA 13
3. Call of Duty: Black Ops 2
4. Far Cry 3
5. Need for Speed: Most Wanted
6. Just Dance 4
7. Football Manager 2013
8. Hitman: Absolution
9. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
10. Assassin’s Creed 3
11. LEGO The Lord of the Rings
12. WWE ’13
13. Dishonored
14. Sonic and All Stars Racing Transformed
15. Skylanders Giants
16. Forze Motorsport 4
17. LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes
18. Medal of Honor: Warfighter
19. NBA 2K13
20. Borderlands 2

Can DmC be MVP next week too?

Understandably. The game is fantastic. Definitely is the best DMC game i’ve ever played.

‘DmC sells over a third of what ‘Devil May Cry 4’ did at launch when it also reached No1, back in week 6 2008′

@4

Haha, thank you. By “the abyss”, I mean out of the top 20 across all formats. :P

@2: Who said that? We don’t even have the official numbers.

I don’t understand why it’s called DmC: Devil May Cry.
Assuming DmC means Devil May Cry, it’s called Devil May Cry: Devil May Cry, what.

Finally! It feels great to see a Ninja Theory game debut at number 1. Really talented studio that makes really interesting games (Still bummed about Enslaved’s commercial failure though).

EG is reporting it that way …

Though DmC is currently sitting on a better MetaCritic rating.

Wow, look at all those new releases on that chart!

Oh wait, pretty much all of them are from last year.

Congratulations DmC, you just won the special olympics after everyone’s already gone home!

I also seem to recall Lollipop Chainsaw making it fairly high in the UK charts, but that’s considered a flop. Now, if it gets on top of the US charts, that’s something, but over here, the 360 version didn’t even make the Amazon top 100 and the PS3 version is at 96.

@12 I still don’t see any numbers.

Not that it matters anyway. Sales =/= quality.

I definitely agree that sales don’t always equal quality.
But in this case whether they were better off with dmc5, financially speaking or whether it was worth antagonizing such a large part of existing fanbase.

@8: Obviously it means DeLorean Motor Company: Devil May Cry.

Real impressive when it was the only game that came out that week and all the titles on the chart are at least a month old.

Go have a look at where DMC HD collection is on the Amazon chart. Compare it to DmC.

@20: The HD version has been out much longer. Amazon charts do not represent sales in total. Your argument is invalid.

I was’nt trying to start an arguement, aside from the fact that the HD collection was’nt in the chart before DmC.

Its just amusing. It amuses me. I could not care less about sales figures and I pretty much never have.

That means Capcom lost 2/3 of their DMC fanbase….ouch, that is abysmal.
