Skyrim Dragonborn DLC spells, story, enemies and locations leaked – rumour

Monday, 3rd December 2012 01:49 GMT By Brenna Hillier

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim’s next DLC is called Dragonborn and will let you ride dragons and go to Morrowind. As far as I’m concerned, that’s all I need to know to throw my wallet at Bethesda, but alleged beta testers have offered a wealth of new information. Potential spoilers within.

According to leaks posted to Reddit and collated by The Outhousers, the Dragonborn quest is available even if the main story hasn’t been completed. The DLC kicks off when players are attacked by cultists of Miraak, who are searching for the “false Dragonborn”. Searching their bodies reveals a note detailing their quest, after which the player can ship out from Windhelm to Solstheim, an island last seen in Morrowind expansion Bloodmoon.

Solstheim is said to be about the size of the Reach and has a discrete map – so no swimming home, presumably. The main quest is apparently ten hours long if the player rushes, but took one tester more than 30 hours.

Two towns were mentioned where the player can buy a house – Raven Rock and Tel Mithryn. A third town, Skaal Village, yields a new follower who can be married.

A werewolf clan can be found in Frostmoon Crag, which the player can chat with if they are also a werewolf, but it’s not yet clear whether there’s any option to become a werebear, one of a number of new enemies.

The Morag Tong have been spotted in game as hostile enemies but nobody’s found a way to join them yet. Other new enemies include a mysterious serpent and a challenging monster called a Lurker. There are also new kinds of dragons.

Hermaeus Mora’s realm is said to be an integral part of the DLC, and the player will have a chance to keep the Thalmor out of Solstheim. Players can join House Telvanni at the very least, scoring a sweet mushroom house, and both Hlallu and Redoran exist, with the latter more powerful and the former in disgrace for its ties to the Empire.

On the abilities side, staffs will be enchant-able and water walking is back both as an enchantment and potion. Several new dragon shouts have been added – Cyclone, Bend Will (tames a dragon), Dragon Riding, Dragon Aspect (a daily power which spawns dragon armour and an Ancient Dragonborn summon ally, and buffs stats), and Battle Fury (an NPC-target buff).

The sources also offered a list of new achievements, which you can peruse below, as well as locations, weapons, armour, magical items and spells. Dragonborn is due on Xbox 360 on December 4; whether any of this information is true or not remains to be seen. The sources included several off-screen images which cannot be verified.

Hm, if this game will feature proper Werebears, i guess that means that i have to deactivate the Monsters Mod.

I really hope it is true that there is a quest for lvl 81 characters. Would be a good argument to level up as that much.
