Crysis 3 campaign footage spends six minutes in the fields

Warning: Crysis 3 may cause nostalgic tearing and inane grins. This footage shows a return to the open, vegetation-filled environments fans missed so much in the second entry.

The video below shows Prophet and Psycho venturing through New York’s train yards, which the Nanodome has transformed into a grassy plain. That’s not to say the tearrain is featureless, as CELL is present in high numbers, giving you plenty to look at (and shoot). Crysis 3 is expected on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in February.

If you’d like a little more insight into the single-player gameplay, check out the video below, in which Crytek’s Mike Reed walks GameSpot through.

Thanks, Edo.

Holy shit those graphics. It has to be PC gameplay, right?

It has to be, yes. I’m playing Crisis 2 on PS3 now and it looks shabby in comparison. I know this is a sequel and the graphics ought to be better, but the console versions will surely not look like this.

Nothing groundbreaking. These levels of graphics are from 2007 on the PC.

Still, it looks very nice.

There’s something wrong with the water. The waves. So fast. Everything else looks awesome though
