Viking: Battle for Asgard, which was released for consoles in 2008 by The Creative Assembly, will arrive on Steam next week. The port was developed by SEGA’s West Midlands team Hardlight Studio, and has been given an graphical update. A Steam listing was not available at press time. Thanks, PCGamesN.

Ha! Concept Art World just featured some of Bj√∂rn Hurri’s work a few days ago. It contains concepts for Viking: Battle for Asgard. I was thinking that it would be nice if they would launch it for the PC. And they will. So cool! :)

I got this game for PS3 back when it came out and it was really fun to play. Chopping hordes of enemies really felt good, few game give you that meaty feeling.
I wonder what kind of graphical upgrade it is. Game looked pretty nice overall, but I remember most cutscenes lacking lip-sync of any description and pine trees strangely lacking in detail (deciduous trees looked good strangely enough).

I hope they do more than that. The gameplay was horrendous, with way too much grinding and way too many QTE involved. The lack of sound in huge battle scenes destroyed a lot of the atmosphere. Pity, the game had so much potential.

    Wonder if it’s any good.
