Zynga farewells chief creative officer

Zynga has lost another executive with the departure of former chief creative officer Mike Verdu.

Verdu broke the news of his own depurate to AllThingsD.

Verdu will head up his very own games developer. Although he's not ready to reveal its name, he said the team wil focus on mobile games, which will be published by Zynga, one of the start-up's chief investors.

As such, the split seems pretty amicable - but it's worth noting that Zynga recently lost COO and former EA executive John Schappert, as well as CityVille general manager Alan Patmore, Mafia Wars 2 lead Erik Bethke, mobile VP Ya-Bing Chu, and general manager Jeremy Strauser. Its stock continues to perform poorly.

Thanks, Gamasutra.
