Riders of Rohan expansion for LOTRO delayed into October

Riders of Rohan, the upcoming expansion for The Lord of the Rings Online, has been delayed into October according to an announcement from Turbine. However, there's a silver lining to it, as you'll see below.

According to the MMO's executive Producer Kate Paiz, the delay's a result of information gleaned through extensive beta testing of the expansion.

“We’ve had a very successful Beta program with some of the largest and most active beta player populations we’ve seen since Moria," she said. "The amount and quality of feedback on our largest expansion ever has been fantastic,” said Kate Paiz, Executive Producer of The Lord of the Rings Online.

“Thanks to some great efforts from beta players, we’ve identified issues that we think need to be addressed before we can launch. In order to address those issues and meet our expectations for quality we’re going to need more time."

While delays are never fun when looking forward to something, here's the silver lining I mentioned above: as a result of the delay, players who have pre-purchased Riders of Rohan will receive 500 Turbine Points and a goodie bag of consumables.

The gifts will be credited to account holders on September 5 as long as RoR has been pre-purchased by that date.

More information on the goodie bag, as well as a list of in-game events being held in the interim can be found through here.

Riders of Rohan will launch on October 15.
