WoW – all races including Pandaren to be available with patch 5.0.4

Thursday, 16th August 2012 21:50 GMT By Stephany Nunneley

Blizzard has announced that when World of Warcraft patch 5.0.4 releases, all races in the game can be played by anyone, no matter which version or expansion of the MMO they own. This includes the Pandaren, which will become available when Mists of Pandaria releases on September 25. Just in case you were worried and all that. Thanks, GwynbleiddiuM.

Ha! The 25th will be a GLORIOUS day! And not because of stupid ass Pandas… But because of a little game called Guild Wars 2!

They’re giving a race and a starting zone away? They’re actually giving them away without needing to purchase the expansion? I’m… to be honest, I’m a little stunned.

This is the most desperate I’ve ever seen them. I didn’t think they’d ever do that. What are they so scared of?

They have lost 1.1 million subs the last quarter. They are trying to keep their subscriptions from declining more. I think MMOs will now be going for a more F2P model or at least some part of it following that model.
