Payday: The Heist developer Overkill’s Left 4 Dead collaboration with Valve is a full game that prequels the last two games, CVG‘s reporting.

The game will apparently tell how the zombie outbreak first originated in the first place.

The studio, recently bought by Syndicate developer Starbreeze, announced last month it was collaborating “in-depth” with Valve on a L4D project. A Payday sequel is also thought to be in the works.

The original Left 4 Dead came out in 2008 and was followed a year later with Left 4 Dead, both on Xbox 360 and PC.

I really thing something like this can happen, but this will be a totally scumbag decision by Valve. The fans are waiting for years on something HL related, but Valve stubbornly think L4D is the best for them.

The first game was amazing, the fancy graphics upgrade in l4d2 didn’t make a better game. VS mode was better in the first game, it was more competitive (Nooooo don’t use your med pack).

“it can never be as good as the 1st game”
it can and it was. the 1st game was great and delivered a better first-play experience than l4d2 because it was the first one.

l4d2 is almost the same with more variety, far better level design and nicer visuals. however, i did prefer the l4d1 characters.

there’s nothing you can do in L4D1 that you can’t do in L4D2, especially if you have access to a server.
