hmmm not sure if i will get it. i just finished infamous 2 which is kinda the same genre…i was very disappointed with it by the way. i really liked the first infamous and had high expectations but infamous 2 has mediocore written all over it. bad pacing, lame boss battles (if you even wanna call em bosses) bad voiceacting, boring and/or annoying charakters, unexciting story, the combat is still fun but it should have been more new stuff to keep things fresh and fun…too bad.

It’s not out in Australia and so therefore it was NOT a worldwide launch :p

@5 IMO the Infamous franchise IS exactly that. Mediocre. In fact I don’t think I’ve ever played a more mediocre game. It’s not bad, it’s not good. I almost wished it would be more of one than the other!
.. Prototype wins out for me then.

@5: Have you played the first Prototype? The gameplay is actually quite different.

I really dislike inFamous 2. They really need some new people at suckerpunch. The writing is horrendous, the AI is just embarrassingly lazy and the art-direction is one of the worst in videogames. From the character-design to the animations, everything seems to be flawed and out of place. Don’t even get me started on the voiceacting.

Have fun console chaps. Ill be sitting over here waiting for no apparent reason.

Pretty decent scores. A LOT of people hated first Prototype but a few like myself really enjoyed it.

@7,8 yea too bad. the combat and climbing system isn´t that bad in infamous imo. it is kind of fun. but that´s just not enough.
no i never played the first prototype. maybe i will check 2 out this time.

I don’t think the video above does it many favours.. and I must say I prefer the look of Mercer to this new dude.

Still, I’d rather sprint at full speed up skyscrapers than clamour and climb like that Cole pussy.

@14: To be honest, so far none of the trailers did the game any favors, the developer diary however did a pretty good job selling the game.

I actually like the character design more, though i don’t understand why the choose to give him a hoody, if he isn’t going to wear it. sports military jacket with an attached hoody would’ve been better.

Just less tight. It would definitely fit the character.

Funny because I believe firs prototype got reception like this and after I played it I couldn’t help but see how much o a hot mess the game was. It wasn’t pretty at all, the game play was repetitive and bland, running up buildings and what not just felt like spiderman with no webs. Everything about prototype reflected the same things i disliked about infamous 1. However, I was atleast able to play infamous 1 more than prototype.

Infamous 2 was actually much better then both. Just couldn’t agree with you guys on it being mediocre. Was MUCH better than the first. I even Plat’d it. Prototype 2 on the other hand looks exactly like 1 with better graphics(marginally better).

I’m gonna do like I did with infamous 2. Wait till it’s at a bargain bin value that appeals to me and then buy it. I just don’t see this franchise as a d1p

yea i preferred prototype over infamous when they first came out !!! infamous had the most boring and crap side missions ever like destroying cameras off a house or escorting a gang to jail when they try make a break for it you have to shock them !!! prototype was at least was fun but its missions got repetitive as well but they were no were near as bad as infamous

Going to get this after work. I’m excited.

if you are a pc fan save your money for Binary Domain it come on steam in 3 days or so

^ Prototype = Running around a open environment, unleashing super human mayhem.

Binary Domain = Squad based third person shooter, where your decisions effect your team.

Erm… Their not exactly similar in gameplay, y’know?
