GameStop US slashes $50 off PS3 price to $199

GameStop’s reduced the price of a new PlayStation 3 online by $50 to $199. Its normal price is $249. It’s unknown if this is a sign of things to come ahead of the oncoming LA storm or a mere promotion from the retailer. GS is also offering along with a purchase of a PlayStation Vita a special bundle, featuring a free game and case.

A friend of mine is having his xb360 dying on him. It keeps hanging up at the boot screen. Displays great looking logo screen. Might be time for him to take the plunge and trade up.

I have had one too many bad xb360 experiences. And MS always having a hand on my wallet doesn’t help.

Honeslty, at this point in time, I do believe the PS3 is a far better value and better system then xb360.

Also, Microsoft are far better in dealing with fixing issues with 360 than Sony with PS3.

@12 YLoD:RRoD ratio is probably about 1:100.

Also, MS do their level best to ignore and deny issues (they were forced by the US government and the EU to deal with RRoD and they still try to deny any Live user has ever been hacked).
