Grasshopper: Retail games won’t “die out”, looking at Steam expansion
Grasshopper CCO and famed composer Akira Yamaoka has said retail games won’t “die out”, but admitted it is looking towards an expansion on Steam.

“I don’t think that packaged games will die out, but Steam has a lot of potential since it works with different hardware,” Yamaoka told Siliconera.
He added after the release of both Lolipop Chainsaw and iOS game Black Knight Sword, Grasshopper may look at bringing games to Steam, Origin, social media and phones.
Yamaoka further continued that if its games were to come to Steam, they’d be new games and not re-released titles.
On the PS3 version of Sin Mora, announced at TGS moons ago only for it to become a XBLA exclusive, he said: “Well, you know it kind of happened. Stay tuned for more news.”

@2 I’d like that too, but they’ve already said they won’t do it.

Grasshopper have done almost nothing but exclusives. It’s a real shame. I’d love to see all those games on Steam.
