By Brenna Hillier, Friday, 30 March 2012 08:05 GMT

Head down to the Solei bar and Lounge in Moonee ponds tomorrow after noon to see the nation’s finest try to beat each other up – and even throw a few punches yourself.

The event runs from noon to around 9:00PM, and will feature exhibition matches as well as the competition itself.

The action kicks off with Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition, and runs the gamut of King of Fighters XI, Soul Calibur V, Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, Blazblue Continuum Shift Extend, Virtua Fighter 5 and vanilla Street Fighter x Tekken, so there’s plenty to choose from should you feel brave enough to tackle the pros.

Perhaps most excitingly, the top four finalists in the Souls Calibur V competition will be invited to play a live match during Video Games Unplugged, an upcoming Melbourne Symphony Orchestra event emceed By Will Wheaton, Scott Kurtz and Kris Straub.

Hit up the Facebook event page for the details straight from organisers CouchWarriors.

Not in Melbourne? Otherwise engaged? Can’t be arsed? Gamespot AU will stream the whole thing.
