Fez launches on Xbox Live Arcade next month
It’s been a long time coming, but Polytron has finally announced a release date for its award-winning indie puzzle platformer, Fez.

As briefly detailed on Polytron’s blog, you’ll be able to grab Fez from the Xbox Live Marketplace on Friday, April 14, for 800 MS Points.
The “2.5D” game features a 2D protagonist in a 3D world; gameplay shifts between the two planes. Despite going unreleased for several years since first announce, Fez has attracted something of a following among indie fans, both for the promise of its core premise and its charming aesthetic.
Polytron has won two gongs at the Independent Games Festival Awards for the artistic puzzler, and was prominently featured in popular documentary Indie Games: The Movie.
Core creative Phil Fish is already plotting his next project.

Fez reminds me of Paper Mario.
Is Fez a Japanese game or is the developer just borrowing?

Polytron is a western indie. Would it not be borrowing if it was a Japanese developer…?

With this and Trials Evolution and Minecraft, XBLA’s April is going to be expensive.

This game reminds me of Sideway: New York, where you play a 2D character painted on walls in a 3D environment.

The kind of puzzles seem different tho.
