First NCAA Football Fellowship begins January 17

MIT's Richard Mancuso and Colarado State's Clint Oldenburg have been selected for EA Sports' inaugural NCAA Football Fellowship.

For those who came in late, the fellowship targets post-graduate, ex-NCAA players for 16 weeks of full time paid development work at EA Tiburon, on the next NCAA game.

Mancuso is a computer science and engineering graduate and has a string of football credits; he was a three-year starting quarterback, New England Football Conference Rookie of the Year, and won the Boston Globe Golden Helmet Award.

Oldenburg's qualifications are in technical journalism, and he was a starting offensive lineman for three years and a fifth round NFL draft pick in 2007.

The two development rookies kick off their work experience stint on January 17. Presumably a career in games development awaits them thereafter, especially given how difficult it is to get the kind of professional experience employers demand. Good work, lads.
