Xbox Live Avatar Marketplaces gets tattoos

Microsoft may be dumping the guns from Xbox Live Avatar Marketplace, but in its place, in come tattoos. As Joystiq points out, the tattoos available consist of the usual from kanji writing, tribal stuff, hot rod flames and more. The same old deal. Prices go from 160/240 MS points, but it’s worth noting the tats are also actually just shirts and tank-tops with tat designs instead of accessories.

i am pretty heavily tattooed. my arms are almost fully blacked for example. it is stupid but i always thought my avatar looked strange in a tshirt with those”empty” arms. i hope they´ll have some blackwork options. man am i a nerd. i am talking about a shit avatar that means nothing. i should wear a masterchief armor and shut up forever.

….just checked….they´re shit.

Pretty shit that they haven’t added them in as a new body feature rather than just a shirt. Though maybe I’d consider tattoos in real life if I could change them as easily as a shirt.

yea you can´t…that´s why i ended up with black sleeves
couldn´t stand my 90´s oldschool hardcore scene tattoo stuff on the arms anymore ….zzzzpaintitblack…i am pretty happy with my tats though.

Also tattooed. Given that doing it properly isn’t a fashion thing but a big decision to be made properly, it’s a shame that these “tattoos” seem to be a trendy style thing rather than anything of real substance.

Although given that avatars are hardly about real substance anyway, maybe it’s not such a big deal in the first place.
