Gears of War 3 DLC, RAAM’s Shadow, out December 13
Epic has announced that RAAM’s Shadow, a new piece of campaign DLC for gears of Wars 3, will release on December 13.

The DLC will last around three hours and stars characters new and “eerily” familiar to the series, in a storyline preceding events in the first Gears of War. It will also include six new multiplayer characters, the Chocolate Weapon Set and an additional 250 Gamerscore.
In addition, players will step into the boots of RAAM, and, for the first time, “storm the human stronghold” from the perspective of the legendary boss.
As for storyline: “RAAM’s Shadow drops players into the events of Sera post-Emergence Day, as Zeta Squad is enlisted to evacuate Ilima City and protect the citizens against a Locust Kryll storm. Taking on the infamous Locust leader from Gears 1, General RAAM, Zeta is led by Michael Barrick (from Gears comics fame) and comprised of familiar faces such as Lt. Minh Young Kim (Gears 1) and Tai Kaliso (Gears 2), and also includes a new female comrade, Alicia Valera.”
Those who own the Gears 3 Season Pass will be the first to play the Horde Command Pack, which launches on November 1, and RAAM’s Shadow on December 13.
“When we announced the Gears 3 Season Pass, we immediately started getting hundreds of questions from fans about what the game add-ons would be,” said Epic design head Cliff Bleszinski.
“We’re really excited to be lifting the curtain on the first two releases, first with the Horde Command Pack and now with RAAM’s Shadow, which gives fans a new perspective on the Gears universe and is also the biggest DLC release we’ve ever made.
“RAAM’s imposing size and strength, along with his Kryll shield, make him one of the most powerful and daunting foes in the Gears’ universe. We think fans are going to have a blast unleashing hell upon the poor humans for the first time in a campaign setting.”
The Gears of War 3 Season Pass can be purchased for 2,400 Microsoft Points, which will give you the first four game add-ons for a discount of more than 30 percent.
RAAM’s Shadow separately, will run you 1,200 Microsoft Points.

I hope it’s better than the main campaign. The story of the first and second Gears was way better, and that’s saying something.

Hang on.. the season pass gives you a ‘discount of more than 30%’ on the first four game add-ons.
Assuming they’re 1,200 points each (total approx 4,800 points) then you’d get a discount somewhere in the region of 1,600 – 1,800 points, right?
The pass itself costs 2,400 points.. which means you’re paying more overall.
I assume then that they give you lots of other stuff for having this ‘season pass’????

“Hang on.. the season pass gives you a ‘discount of more than 30%’ on the first four game add-ons.”
They have badly worded it to say the least.
Basically, when you plonk down your 2400 points you get four DLC packs included in the cost and where the maths comes in is the 2400 point purchase versus the acculumated total of having to buy each DLC pack seperately.
Don’t forget also, that the first pack due next month, costs 800 MSP and not 1200.

Sweet, sounds brilliant can’t wait.
Regarding the season pass, the first two DLC’s together are 2000 points, the pass cost 2400, considering you get those and the next 2 with the pass I think there will be a considerable saving instead of buying them all individually.

cool idea. can´t wait. the game is so good. sp and mp. i really appreciate that the dlc will feature both. i am usually really picky with buying dlc stuff but i bought the seasons pass right away after finishing the campaign and a few mp matches.
@2: i really couldn´t disagree more. i played gears 1 and 2 when they came out and aslo played their mp for a while…but never really became a fan. it was fun to play, i liked the gameplay, but i could never really understand the megahype. gears 3 changed that completely. it belongs to my best games ever list and i don´t play games like since 00´s or the 90´s…it´s more like from errrrrmmm the 80´s…

I’m sure they’ll be wanting to make it an improvement on the previous campaign DLC for Gears 2, which didn’t even allow you to save.

3 hours? I’ll see it when i believe it, not that it’s even that incredibly much. But the campaign of 3 can be finished in 6 hours and 15 minutes. A good friend of mine recently finished in that short amount of time, and nope it wasn’t a speedrun.
What did you say about the longest campaign in a Gears game yet, Cliffy? Shiiiiiit.

@4 & @5 to add on to what you said and clarify a bit further for comment #4…you get all four DLC packs which will release over the next 12 months for 2400 pts when you pre-pay by buying the season pass…its a 33% discount since if you bought all the DLCs separately they would be 3600 pts…as I’m sure you can figure out 2400 is 67% of 3600, which gives you your 33% discount…when you buy the season pass you don’t pay for the DLC since the season pass is the DLC just at a discounted rate for buying it all at once in bulk…also as I’m sure you can figure out if you’re capable of basic math skills that means this campaign DLC is the only pack that will cost 1200 pts and the other 3 will cost 800 pts giving you a total of 3600 pts which shows you buying the season pass for 2400 pts is a quality discount for any gears fan
