Pre-order Sony 3D TV bundle before Sep 30, get Resistance 3 for free

Sony’s made its US pre-order offer for the upcoming PlayStation 3D display bundle official: you’ll net a copy of Insomniac’s upcoming shooter Resistance 3 for free.  The offer will be available at retailers nationwide.

As detailed in the US PS Blog, The bundle includes a 24-inch 3D Display, one pair of universal PlayStation 3D glasses, a copy of Motorstorm Apocalypse and an HDMI cable. Anyone who pre-orders it by September 30 will now also receive a copy of Resistance 3 on Blu-Ray.

The entire bundle costs $499.99 and will be launching in November.

The bundle was initially announced with Resistance 3 as the included game, but after Sony switched in Motrostorm: Apocalypse, a number of retailers continued to list Resistance 3 as a free added extra.

I didn’t know you were forced to buy the “crappy” TV or play the game. Last i checked; Samsung, Vizio, Sharp, LG, Panasonic are still making TVs and there is Xbox 360, Wii and PC if you wanted to game on a non Sony product. I get it though, you thought you could take a shot at Sony for some weird dreamt up reason. Nice TV IMO, better than most $400 monitors but not getting it.

@1 Although I agree that it’s a pretty stupid deal (“Buy a small, expensive television… get a free game!”) the actual visual quality of Sony’s televisions are far from “crappy”.

I won’t be getting it unless a sudden need for a 3D TV arises (which I don’t see happening), but it’s actually a great deal. Two games, a TV/PC monitor and a pair of 3D glasses for $499? It’s practically a steal.
