Goldeneye 007: Reloaded made official for PS3, 360

Wednesday, 20th July 2011 13:38 GMT By Johnny Cullen

Activision’s formally announced, as expected, Goldeneye 007: Reloaded for PS3 and Xbox 360.

The game is a HD redeux of the version that launched last year on Wii.

Reloaded on PS3, however, will make use of Move controls with SharpShooter support also confirmed by Activision. As well as that, both PS3 and 360 versions will include MI6 Missions, “new, distinct levels separate from the campaign” that will be based on four separate objectives: Assault, Elimination, Stealth and Defence.

“We are beyond ecstatic to debut GoldenEye 007: Reloaded to the millions of fans who have been clamoring for it to arrive on Sony and Microsoft home consoles,” said EVP at Activision Publishing, David Oxford.

Rob Dyer, SCEA SVP, added: “By bringing together GoldenEye 007: Reloaded, and PlayStation Move’s Sharp Shooter, we are continuing to expand the new world of motion-based entertainment appealing for hardcore fans and only possible on PlayStation.”

It’s out this fall. The first trailer is below.

Hmm… it still looks kind of ‘low-tech’ despite the HD shinies. Plus, who the hell’s doing the voice-over on the video? The work experience student?

Well, I did enjoy Dead Space Extraction which was Wii HD port. Hope they upgrade the visuals more than just resolution.

I think the trailer should have documented in text what is new and “reloaded” about this version. IE. framerate, resolution, extra missions, etc.

I’ve not played the Wii version of this but as long as it doesnt stray to far away from the N64 version I will be happy.
I spent a lot of hours playing goldeneye against my mates, proximity mines were so much fun.
Does the Wii version have the cheats to unlock?

Gaming is meant to be social, when I played this, few beers, sitting together, chatting, playing games for hours.

Now if you wanna game, its send your mates home, organise a time to be online at the same, hope every1 has the net and a good enough connection and a copy of the game, mics if you wanna talk.

Most decent FPS’s have split screen and a LAN mode these days.

I wonder if they’ll do what Naughty Dog’s doing with U3 allowing multiple people playing local split screen to sign into each individual user account while playing online.

@10 It strays fairly far away from the N64 version.

A point-for-point remake probably wouldn’t be too exciting these days anyway, but the new Golden Eye is a very strange mutant of a remake.

It’s not directly bad, it’s just nothing like what you remember. As far as a Wii shooter goes, it’s alright, but it’s nothing compared to your Halos or Killzones or CoDs.

It really looks like a COD game and that’s not a good thing if you ask me, it needs to be its own ‘thing’ .

Of course it looks like a Call Of duty game… :D It’s Activision.

Actually… It looks like Quake 3 with reskin models… So much quality with Activision games… So much effort is put in to them.

@16, this should be in last generation of consoles, but beause it is from Activision it is a full retail game.

Are you going to buy it? :D

not for more than £20. it looks weak graphically, plenty of other titles more worthy of £40

Seems like a perfectly acceptable and harmless slice of £17.99 FPS fodder-fun to me.
