Torchlight sells 1 million units across all platforms

Runic Games has announced Torchlight has now sold 1 million copies across all platforms since being released in October 2009.

The RPG hit the million mark after the XBLA Deal of the Week promotion and Steam sale over the July 4 holiday.

The game sold 500,000 copies during its first six months on the market on PC before being released on Mac and then XBLA in March 2010.

"We're very excited to share Torchlight’s success with our fans and supporters," said Runic president Travis Baldree. "It's been a great ride so far and we can’t wait to give everyone more of what they want in Torchlight II.

"It isn’t every day you sell a million games. We’re grateful to be here."

Torchlight II is expected to be released sometime this summer after its initial spring release was delayed.
