PSA: PS3 firmware update due soon
Sony has announced via the The US PS Blog that a new PlayStation 3 firmware update is inbound.
Due “soon”, firmware 3.66 will improve network services and increase stability when gaming.
No mention was made of this update being optional, although it was described as “minor”. No further specifics have been given.

It isn’t optional. I could not log in to my Canadian PSN account at least without updating.
