ArenaNet’s summer convention appearances scheduled
While ArenaNet will be skipping out on E3 again this year, there are other conventions going on this summer where, should you attend, you will get to see the sweet looking Guild Wars 2.

Here’s where the firm plans to be and when:
- San Diego Comic- Con (July 21-24) – Artists and devs will be there to meet fans and do signings. Drop by the NCsoft booth to play Guild Wars 2 and try your hand at the engineer.
- Gamescom (August 17-21) – First European show this year. A playable demo and new surprises will be in store. The traditional costume competition will be held as well, so get to knitting or papier-mâché-ing.
- PAX Prime (August 26-28) – Big surprises, cool swag, interesting panels, and a ton of Guild Wars 2 demo stations.
- Paris Games Week – (October 21-25) – Hands-on demo for our French fans. Eenez nous dire bonjour si vous passez dans le coin – a.k.a – come say hello if you are in the neighborhood. Or something like that.
Sounds like a fun time for GuildWars fans everywhere.
The game is slated for release in 2012 with a beta expected later this year.

@1 It seems so. They’ve announced a steampunky gun wielding sentry gun building engineer class couple of weeks ago. An Rpg would kinda fit.

There will be rocket launchers as environmental weapons.
Also, the Engineer class gets a rocket jump, a glue gun, a gun that fires nets, an automated gattling turret, a healing turret, modern grenades (nitros, flashbangs, et cetera), and a flamethrower.
If you think that rocket launcher is something, you should most certainly check out this bit of concept art that was released with the Engineer reveal.
I know my first profession choice, now.
