Japanese charts – PSP and Dragon Quest Monsters tops

Media Create has released the unit sales figures for Japanese hardware and software for the week ending April 3, and it finds PSP topping the harware chart for the second week in a row. On the software chart, Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 2 Professional debuted at number one for older NDS systems.

PSP titles rule the software offerings

Square's Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 2 Professional was the only NDS in the top 10 for the week, claiming the top spot with 163, 008 units sold, which is quite good for an update instead of direct sequel.

Kadokawa Game's Ebikore+ Amagami for PSP, which also debuted for the reporting period, moved 69,221 units to land in second place, followed by last week's winner, Final Fantasy IV: Complete Collection on PSP. The former also debuted on PS2 for the week, moving 17,261 units to land in the sixth spot.

BlazBlue Continuum Shift II, which debuted in fifth place, was released for both PSP and 3DS but only the PSP version landed in the top 20. The only 3DS title to land in the top 10 for the week was Namco Bandai's Pro Baseball Famista 2011, which debuted in ninth place.

Crysis 2 debuted in 12th with 10,416 units moved on PS3. The 360 version landed at number 27, but Media Create doesn't provide figures for titles that land in spots 21-50.

Big sellers like Monster Hunter Portable 3rd and Pokemon Black and White stayed in the top 20, with life-to-date sales hitting 4,417,517 and 5,136,984, respectively.

All in all, six PSP titles made up the top 10 with 8 titles total for the system in the top 20.
