Rumour: Strider and Frank West still on for Marvel vs Capcom 3
File this one under “extremely dubious” and “probably shop’d”, but an image has appeared apparently showing Strider and Dead Rising’s Frank West in Marvel vs Capcom 3.

As Destructoid rightly points out, the image crop is suspicious, showing only the character’s names – reasonably easy to mock up – rather than their much tricker in-game appearances.
Both characters are known to have been slated for inclusion in the game, only to be cut in late 2010, which lends credence to the possibility of finding vestigial traces among the game’s assets – much as the DLC-only Jill Valentine was uncovered by hackers.
In the latter case, the hackers posted multiple images and even videos – why go to all that effort for a single cropped screen?
The other possibility is an attempt at guerrilla viral marketing by Capcom ahead of an official announcement. I’m not holding my breath.

Does anyone else feel this concept of paying for content that was probably cut from the disc to be poorly handled? Especially considering their possible exclusion from tournament use due to them being exclusive to those who are willing to buy them?

Well, it is possible they were able to fix Frank West and include him for DLC. Their reason for not including all the characters and releasing them as DLC was lack of space on the disc. A Blu Ray could handle it, but DVD can not, and they won’t give one console something they can’t give the other. But the game is good, and I don’t mind dropping a little more cash for new content, as long as the price is reasonable.

you know they could release it as a whole for ps3 and make it free to download for 360 (If it doesnt fit in the disc)? You know where this is going. Yep you guess it, just like SUPER street fighter 4. As what #1 says, they probably made ssf4 first then cut content, and released it as sf4. profit???

@2 The DVD is far from being filled (there’s only like 3.2 Gb used) so I doubt this is the true reason.

@2-3: Please stop commenting on news, if you obviously don’t have a clue
I didn’t like Hiryu in MvC2, but a lot of players did (atleast on the xbla remake). But I totally want to see Frank West
The problem with all this stories is: There are already 4 possible characters “on the disc” but only 2 slots left right?
