Shut up Michael…shit that yawn crap is annoying.
Dont Troll dude….fuck me for responding to it though lol.
    Anyways HA!
Tell me what you really think of the game Michael rofl.

    #11 4 years ago
  12. Michael O’Connor

@11 My yawn is exactly what I think of the game.

Everything about it bores the hell out of me. It’s another first person shooter, with nothing even remotely unique or inventive about it in the slightest.

Sometimes the longest answers can be summed up in the least words. Which is why a yawn so regulalry suffices to get the point across.

Does *anyone* even understand what the word trolling means anymore?

    #12 4 years ago
  13. Dimacorgan

Yeah, man, we’re on Helgan here, so no doubt the jungle may look somewhat alien…

    #13 4 years ago
  14. Mike

I reckon it’ll be good. Just a shame that you don’t seem to be able to interact with the scenery. You can’t run in between the trees/bushes etc. The plants and leaves don’t seem to move.

    #14 4 years ago
  15. Dimacorgan

@12 well, of course you may not like it, but if there’s something to be said, it’s that after MW success every shooter is becoming a mere clone of that kind of experience; KZ remains true to its nature and delivers a massive dose of adrenaline (just considering what I’ve been thru in the beta), great visuals and huge maps. If you still yawn at it, well, too bad! ;-)

    #15 4 years ago
  16. Hunam

That looks really good. I was quite excited for KZ2 but the campaign was a bit of a grind the the MP was ruined by the clumsy controls, this looks a lot better and it actually has a frame rate, plus the people don’t move like tanks.

Probs gonna get this, not right away mind. Can’t really afford too many games this year.

    #16 4 years ago
  17. Erthazus

    @12 Disagree.

Killzone 2 multiplayer was actually a very good classic class based FPS game with interesting mechanics from other games.

something in between Counter-Strike and Battlefield. They really nailed the multiplayer. Yes, it was not innovative, but it was a very SOLID multiplayer experience… while…

CAMPAIGN sucked huge ass and was really boring and stupid anyway.

I enjoyed multiplayer. It’s really solid and in some points returns to the oldschool roots.

But i hope that in Killzone 4 or whatever they will improve graphics, for at least multiplatform level… Look at the thread screenshot. Everything about this screen says: “Fuck me, i have bad engineers and art designers please do something”

    #17 4 years ago
  18. Michael O’Connor

@15 I’ve never been an adrenaline junkie. That kind of experience bore me senseless.

Killzone is simply another first person shooter, no matter how you look at it.

Do you remember our first arguement. You, Erthazus and i arguing over Killzone2 and Gears2 about 2yrs ago.

You said both Gears of War 2 and Killzone 2 were great games and that Killzone 3 and Gears 3 will both be equally great…

    What changed your mind?

The hypocritical cunt strikes again. Can someone please keep track of his comments cause he really does twist his shitty words from month to month.

@ Spider thats what he does. He loves to troll for no reason. He goes back on his words and twist them so much he forgets the lies he tells. He’s a sad fuck.

    #21 4 years ago
  22. daytripper

“he loves to troll for no reason” as do you, on numerous occassions. lets be honest here, most of you are playstation gamers (if i’m wrong i’m sorry) and if someone says something negative about a playstation game you gang up and start bleating. if this o’connor guy thinks the game is boring who cares? i like the way its progressing and i suspect many of you do aswell. i’ve got kz3 on pre-order so hopefully the single player campaign will be better than the 2nd, online was the better experience imo.

    #22 4 years ago
  23. Dr.Ghettoblaster

Fucking ungratefull spoiled little bitches on this site.

I’m happy to see some diverse enviorments in KZ3 whether it’s called a “jungle” or a fucking cottage cheese level.

It’s a fresh, different environment in KZ3. And that’s awesome news.

Oh, and to Mr. Oconnor who said:
“Killzone is simply another first person shooter, no matter how you look at it.”

While you may be correct gameplay wise, I’ve played the beta and it happens to be the MOST BEAUTIFUL JAW DROPPING GORGEOUS and IMPRESSIVE looking FPS to date. The amount of particle effects and activty on the screen (up close and far in the distance) at one time is staggering. And it’s still smooth as hell. And the Beta was ALPHA CODE.

James Cameron’s Avatar story was very simple, nothing new really. But the visuals made it a landmark in cinema.

Same deal here. I’m sure even you Michael, must have some appreciation for landmark products in any one particular industry.

    #26 4 years ago
  27. Dimacorgan

@23 now THAT’S what I was trying to say! ;-)

    #27 4 years ago
  28. spiderLAW

    Hahahaha that was awesome G.

No, thats not the case. It’s those that go out of their way to comment negative on every exclusive article.
There are those that do it for the 360 games (not for a while now seeing as the 360 really doesnt have much going on for it it the moment) and those that do it for the PS3 games and its an equal share.

And i wasnt calling out michael because he doesnt like KZ…i dont care if he does or he doesnt. But recently he has been following Ecoblades lead with the *yawn* on almost every FPS related article or more so PS3 related article.I simply am asking him why the sudden change.

  33. Michael O’Connor

    1) FIFA is a great game, but soccer still bores me shitless.

Killzone 2 is impressive from a technical standpoint (I must have been high if I was complementing Gears of War though), but its still derivative as all hell.

When I played Killzone, it’s adrenaline fuelled machismo was so utterly nauseating that I couldn’t put up with it past the second level.

The game had a great and very inventive control scheme, I’ll give it that. I actually think it’s a pity that they caved under the pressure and decided to convert back to something more traditional.

    2) At the end of the day, it’s like this… Why would I bother to be excited about something like this with beautiful, creative and inspiring games like The Last Guardian on the horizon, and industry defining masterpieces like LBP2 already sitting comfortably. in my PS3′s disc drive?

    3) I’ve never gone around yawning on PS3 related articles. Just boring, dull derivative games like this. Resistance 3 is even worse.

  34. Gekidami

Official youtube version in proper HD here:

    #34 4 years ago
  35. Dimacorgan

@33 So this might very well be another great game, and bore you nonetheless, just like FIFA, right?
So what’s the point of posting negative comments? If you don’t like the genre, just get past it! I mean, it makes little sense! Or, does it?

    #35 4 years ago
  36. daytripper

@35 you could say that about a lot of posters tho! i’ve seen people just discuss a game in lots of news articles and then it takes one comment and it all kicks off. tedious, its not just him.

    #36 4 years ago
  37. Michael O’Connor

@35 It’s called having an opinion.

What kind of sycophantic preschool hovel were you raised in? People have different opinions, and sometimes they’re negative one.

A sign of maturity is one’s ability to accept difference of opinions, and discuss them. Not whining like a soccer mom every time someone says something you don’t agree with and telling people they shouldn’t express it.

Do you tell your friends that they shouldn’t speak any time they don’t like something? I would certainly hope not.

    #37 4 years ago
  38. KL

It’s an alien jungle alright.this twisted setting fits perfectly in helghan’s background.
what did people expect? jungles coming out from final fantasy?
do some research on helghan before spitting out nonsense.

On the subject of maturity, michael, holding a discussion without insults also requires it. Remember that before calling somebodies ideas based upon “sycophantic preschool hovel”
But i see what you are saying.

I was just curious on your change of opinion from almost 2yrs ago. Your answer made sense to me. But at the same time, repetition is quite bothersome. Simply saying *yawn* all the time is a little unnecessary.

I don’t understand how you thought starting a conversation with ***yawn*** on a thread envolving a PS3 exclusive wouldn’t start a flame war…

    #41 4 years ago
  42. OrbitMonkey

@30 Gekidami where did you hear about the wildlife? Is it hostile? Be kinda cool if I gotta be on the lookout for feral Helghan Hogbeasts as well as enemy troops :)

    #42 4 years ago
  43. spiderLAW

No flame war here. Just conversation.

I only agree its more of a cave because of its lack of what describes a jungle.
“Jungle or Tropical forest (Sanskrit: जंगल) refers to the dense, more or less impenetrable tropical rainforest biome with an abundance of animal and plant life. The term jungle is technically a synonym to Tropical Rainforest. The word jungle originates from the Sanskrit word jangala (जंगल) which referred to uncultivated land. Although the Sanskrit word refers to “dry land”, it has been suggested that an Anglo-Indian interpretation led to its connotation as a dense “tangled thicket”.[1] while others have argued that a cognate word in Urdu did refer to forests.[2] The term is prevalent in many languages of South Asia, and Iranian plateau, particularly in Bangla, Hindi, Marathi, Urdu, Punjabi and Persian.”
There isnt much vegetation here or wild life to describe it as a jungle. Its nitpicking really. I love the map and its design, just not the title. LOL sorry

  44. monkeygourmet

    @ 43

I guess, i just don’t know what he expected Killzone 3′s gameplay to entail…? The months leading up to it’s release have fed us exactly all the info needed to understand where this sequels coming from… It ticks all the boxes for a sony exclusive in 2011, i.e:

    1. Supports move controls
    2. A showcase for 3D
    3. A sequel to a best selling franchise

The only newish feature’s i’ve seen displayed are:

Jetpacks (already in tons of other FPS games, the newest example i think is Halo Reach)

The new melee kill system (again, not exactly new to the genre but improved from Killzone 2)

Improved, smoother controls (although some people seem to see this as a step backward)

As for story and gameplay, it all looks very familiar. I don’t understand why Michael seemed to think it would anything other than this. However, it does look and im sure will play great. With so much money riding on big blockbusters like this, course there gonna play it safe…

    #44 4 years ago
  45. KL

It’s been mentioned that there will be wildlife.
Helghast world is Helghan, they may refer to these parts as jungle mostly due to wildlife who knows, thus the title.
Don’t expect lush vegetation of any kind on Helghan. It will contradict with the planet’s background so far

Damn that look’s good! Looks alot smoother and bigger colour palette, but still remains very Killzone-esque.

Now i know about this level and will be expecting it. Why not keep it a surprise for everyone? I’m just sayin

It’s annoying, i played too much Halo Reach multiplayer, when i did the campaign afterwards i realised i had pretty much seen all the levels before as the graphics are recycled… It’s a pity they can’t make completly unique maps for multiplayer.
