Director Edgar Wright has admitted to EGTV that he’s “too scared” to have a games console in his home for the last “10 years”.
He said he became hooked on games, but dropped the hobby whilst making TV comedy Spaced.
“At some point I had what I can only call a troubled couple of months on Resident Evil 2 and Tomb Raider 3 – and [the PlayStation] had to go,” said Wright, who directed the movie adaptation of the videogame-inspired Scott Pilgrim vs The World.
Wright, who also directed Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, now says he has a PS3 in his house, but only to play Ubisoft’s Scott Pilgrim title.
“After Scott Pilgrim I did get a PlayStation 3, solely to play the Scott Pilgrim game. I was stunned by how well it came off.”
All’s good in the world again. You should probably watch Scott Pilgrim if you haven’t already. It’s good stuff.
