Ultra-rumor: StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm ending leaks out a year early
We believe an “oops” is in order.
Actually, not an “oops,” but rather THE “oops” – the “oops” by which all other “oopses” shall henceforth be judged.
Kotaku‘s uncovered what appears to be a very early cut of StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm’s ending. How early? Well, the game’s not supposed to wriggle out of Blizzard’s hive for more than a year and the footage occasionally splices in storyboard images. Also, you’ll note that the production company’s watermark is clearly visible. The Third Floor, as it’s known, previously assisted with StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty, giving this thing some credentials beyond “look at this neato video we found on Youtube.”
As per usual, Blizzard’s taken its “Blizzard Entertainment does not comment on rumors or speculation” stance with this one. However, actions speak louder than words, and frantic attempts to have the video Yamato cannoned off the face of the Internet seem to suggest that this isn’t just some piece of high-budget fan fiction. Anyway, the video’s below – though it may not stay that way for long. Needless to say, SPOILERS IMMINENT.

I suppose I should thank who ever leaked this video… what a shit ending to this massive story arc that spanned over a decade. and yes a copyright claim only solidifies that its real. Perhaps the ending will undergo some extensive and much needed re-writing after this

It’s very simple and childish story. With very bad dialogs. Almost at the level of Halo:Reach.
Compared to the first game, it’s meh…

GOSH…. I watched the trailer… Blizzard are now a RESKIN company, not a gaming company. That ending destroyed every freakin lore of Starcraft and what was good about it.

You’ve got to be some sort of SUPER NERD to complain that the end of a story about space marines in permanent giant suits that are so big that they couldn’t even fit through the toilet door, much less sit down on one; and half supermodel, half fictional alien creature type things that can destroy entire nations, isn’t realistic enough for you.
How sad.

90% of people complaining there, but people who played SC1 just shit their pants with this cliche ending.
Giga, it’s just really cliche and not very well done compared to what was done in the first game. + if you read books you will notice how bad this ending was.
They destroyed the whole purpose of Starcraft lore basically.

Starcraft always had a shit story. So do 90% of other games. If you want great stories, read a book. It’s still an epic sequence.
The cease and desist pretty much confirms the video, but knowing Blizzard, this sort of thing isn’t going to shake them up. They’re just going to bin the whole thing, add another six months to the production time and redo the thing.
