Tuesday, 16th November 2010 14:20 GMT By Stephany Nunneley

CD Projekt RED has announced a release date for The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings.

Along with a release date, the firm has promised more “hot news” coming on November 18 during the CD Projekt Conference.

“We’ve decided to move the launch date back a few weeks to afford us more time to polish the game,” aid Adam Badowski, project lead at CD Projekt RED. “Of course, we know that players would like to get the game as soon as possible, so we hope that they will forgive us! We strongly believe that the extra time spent polishing the title will be well worth the wait”.

Apparently, at the conference later on this week, there will be more detailed information about the approaching worldwide launch of the title, as well as the Collector’s Edition of The Witcher 2. Moreover, CD Projekt RED will present pre-order information from all around the world.

During the conference, the the developers will explain their philosophy with regards to DRM implementation in their titles and they will let us know how it influenced the edition of the game.

The conference will be transmitted online and will start November the 18 at 18:30 CET (9:30 PST) on the official Facebook page for the game.

I hope they do bring this to the 360 eventually, otherwise it will have to wait until I get a new laptop. I just had to retire my last gaming desktop PC :(

You’d think it would be plenty Polish already.

At least this gives me a bit longer to procure a new gaming PC, although it’s not looking very likely unless there’s a paid position going for making rubbish jokes on the internet.

    Can’t wait for this!

Hm… CD Project conference on 18th… about DRM (among other things)… GOG releasing Baldur’s Gate 2 on Monday instead of the expected Wednesday… it can only mean one thing: The Witcher will be released on GOG!

@3 While self publishing would seem to be a great idea and would get them a bigger slice of the pie, gog is DRM free which wouldnt be a good idea for the Witcher, also they probably wont be in a good position to handle bandwidth for a new AAA game.

Please take your time. Heck, don’t bother with a release, just release it when it’s done!
