Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg said last night the additional development time on True Crime: Hong Kong has “paid off” for the game

The title, developed by ModNation Racers studio United Front Games, was due to release for fall this year.

Instead, it was held back into 2011 to have “more time to deliver the high-quality entertainment experience they envision for the game.”

“The additional development time we’ve invested in this game is really paid off,” said Hirshberg, “with game clinic mechanics that make the fighting, shooting is sophisticated of the driving, which is something that’s very hard to achieve in the OpenWorld of genre.”

It’ll release on PS3 and 360 next year. Hirshberg’s comments came in Activision’s Q3 financial call.

They didn’t have a new trailer, or anything, even a translation for the middle paragraph to offer you?
