Final Brink dev diary shows need to do crazy things

brink11

Think it’s safe to say Brink is crazy. In a good way, mind.

Bethesda’s released the fifth and final diary for Splash Damage shooter Brink, with some of the main team telling of the need to do crazy things with the game.

Watch it below. It’s a tiny bit good, yarp?

Brink launches in spring 2011 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.

Thanks, Evil Avatar.

I think by crazy they mean “better”.

You’ve seen all the stuff before, but I can’t remember seeing it look so solid. Certainly the customization will be second to none, and you’ll have an amazing world to fool around in.

The weapons seem really sharp in terms of recoil and sound, but I guess we’ll just have to wait and see. Expectations +1000.

And I want that job recording weapon sounds. I bet those guys hate going to work.

@4 Don’t you mean on the…. Brink?

@7 yeap, they made it look less Borderlands.

@7 They’ve shown an awful lot of gameplay out of the slum levels, so maybe that’s what’s fooling you.

The ammount of stuff you’ll be able to do with your character and your weapons is pretty insane, and the other two levels they’ve shown have been a menacing-looking security base and a shiny white airport, so I’d say it’s always been pretty diverse.

I generally hate MP… so I’ve got a horrible feeling that they’re going to ruin the SP by shoehorning MP aspects in there.

I don’t see why you’d buy a game like this if you hate multiplayer. That’s pretty much asking to be disappointed.

Probably right, but that just means the loss of a decent looking FPS because of an overemphasis on multiplayer… and that sucks.

@PT – i’m kinda inthe same boat as you but from the looks of it if you dont like this games MP then dont bother. The games Sp basically is the MP =/

Seems like a lot of people missing the point – that Brink has a single player aspect which does not defer from the multiplayer aspect. Even if both are essentially the same!

@17 Well, I’d like to believe that.

Really though, the multiplayer crowd won’t be playing a singleplayer game with real people, the singleplayer crowd will just be playing a multiplayer game with bots.

Still, I’m excited to see the whole narrative of those fights through the campaign feature.
