Borderlands gets GOTY Edition, DLC included
Another one to chuck on top of the “completely shocked by this announcement” pile.
Gearbox just confirmed a Borderlands Game of the Year Edition via twitter.
The shooter-RPG’s new set will include all four pieces of DLC and a bonus map for 360, PS3, and PC.
It’s out in October.
The addition episodes are The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned, Mad Moxxi’s Underdome Riot, The Secret Armory of General Knoxx and Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution.
Borderlands involves shooting things, levelling, and getting together with friends. It’s good shit, yo. Watch for more from PAX this week.

this is exactly why I wait for the GOTY editions. Works out so much cheaper cuz the price of DLC and the game, it sometimes adds up to the price of more than 2 full priced games. I got fallout3 GOTY for 17.99

can they fucking fix up the ps3 version so the voice chat actually works!! i bought the game for me and my girlfriend and tried playing co op and we could barley hear each other. wed be lucky to get 30 seconds of talk time. i dnt know if anyone else had this issue, our mics work perfect, and weve tried it many times throught different stages.

No one “hands” them out its just a marketing term.

Its not just the PS3 version, its also a problem on the PC version. I am thinking it may be the servers they use atleast on the PC side.

GOTY isnt a marketing term, it is an actual award. The problem is that some games are going on the fact that any old site/mag gave them an award to release their ‘GOTY Editons’ rather then stick to the more important ones like the GDC awards.

That is often the case yes, but Borderlands was a pretty universally aclaimed title. It doesn’t look that weird for them to putt that on the box.
