PSP “Trophies” grab was Remote Play for PS3, says SCEE

SCEE’s told VG247 that a CVG story from yesterday afternoon showing an image of a PSP XMB titled, “Trophies coming to PSP?” is, in fact, Remote Play for PS3.
The image is the PSP check-out screen at the end of a No Heroes Allowed trailer.
“The screen shown on the end of the video showcases the Remote Play function on a PSP,” a Sony rep told us in a statement, “allowing you to take a look at your XMB, Trophies, friends and other content via your PSP.
“As it’s such a great feature and unique to the PlayStation format we wanted to showcase it. ”
Remote Play allows you to access your PS3 remotely on your PSP via a local connection or an internet connection anywhere in the world.

Just another case of shoddy, misinformed journalism. Simply looking at the picture should have made it obvious. The size of the icons, the friends list, the goddamn inclusion of the PS2 memory card option!

Yep, Journofail indeed.
Although if they have any sense, the new PSP will include trophies somehow.

It’s EXTREMELY obvious!
It’s not as if SCEE never EVER stick a PS3 screen onto a pic of a PSP

I refuse to believe this was an intentional effort to show off remote play by Sony.
It’s more likely the person in charge of the image just grabbed a standard XMB jpeg and stuck in on the video.
