Costume Quest gets first video, and it’s cute

THQ has released the first trailer for Costume Quest, the new downloadable title from Tim Schafer’s Double Fine.

The new game comes from the mind of Tasha Harris, Double Fine’s lead animator, and it sees a group of young friends trying to rid their neighborhood of monsters using “only their wits, their bravery, and their home-made costumes”.

It looks quite cute, really.

Check out the video below.

The third-person digital game is slated for early 2011 on PSN and XBLA.

I love the style, but I’m still not quite clear exactly what sort of a game it is.

Hopefully no RTS bits this time around, right Mr.Schafer?!?

@1 The videos and screenshots seem to hint at a blending of traditional RPG fighting and the Legend of Zelda school of exploration. At least that’s the vibe I’m getting.

Sounds quite appealing. I’ll keep an eye on this one, especially if it’s kid-friendly.

Yeah its old school Zelda when exploring and turn based combat for the fights, looks awesome and can’t wait!!!

Also in case people get confused the Third Person game mentioned in the article to come out in 2011 is Double Fine’s other digital release project, just thought i’d say incase anyone thought it was referring to this

Those characters really remind me of Link in Windwaker.

It reminds me of PS2 oddity ‘Gregory Horror Show’ a bit.
