Layers of Fear and Qube 2 free on Epic Games Store, Soma and Costume Quest up next

Layers of Fear is free on the Epic Games Store alongside Qube 2.

From now until October 31, you can claim Layers of Fear and Qube 2 free through the Epic Games Store.

Layers of Fear is a first-person, psychedelic horror game with a heavy focus on story and exploration. In the game, you take control of a painter whose sole purpose is “to finish his Magnum Opus.” You will have to navigate through both a constantly changing Victorian-era mansion while dealing with the the painter’s “fragile and crumbling psyche.”

Qube 2 is a sequel to the popular first-person puzzler which refines the core mechanics of the original. It also features a more tightly woven narrative that expands the Qube universe.

Come October 31, these two will be replaced with Soma and Costume Quest.

Soma is a sci-fi horror title which was developed by Amnesia: The Dark Descent studio Frictional Games. The game takes place in the underwater facility PATHOS-II where the “radio is dead, the food is running out, and the machines have started to think they are people.” Creepy.

The adorable Costume Quest is a Halloween-themed RPG from Tim Schafer’s studio Double Fine. It stars little kids who complete quests around their neighborhood on Halloween, while donning magic costumes which give them the ability to do battle as real-life versions of that character.
