GameStation turns pawnbroker

GameStation has started a new scheme which allows punters to sell their games and consoles for cash; then buy them back at a later date.

Gamers have always been able to trade in games or consoles for money, however the difference here is that you now have 28 days to buy them back again before they’re sold on to someone else.

The idea of this is to allow you to earn some quick bucks for your impulse buys, before going back and buying all your goods back when you get paid.

If this idea catches on we will no doubt see other specialist retailers following GameStation’s lead. For now, though, if you need a specialist gaming pawnbroker, then you know where to go.

The what? Somehow explain the article to me, English is my second language, so someone explain it, because the way I see it .. So you buy a game for(lets say new) then you sell it to the store for another game, then later you buy the first game back?

Thats just more money wasted…

Not Really.
Once you buy the game back, its as if you never sold the game in the first place. If anything, its as if you paid less for the game you bought with the money pawned off of the other game.

they are but i guess it is just a way to test this program out on only one store and minimise any losses if this thing goes tits up for whatever reason.
