SEGA pushes Sonic 4 into back half of the year
SEGA’s no longer planning to release Episode 1 of Sonic 4 on PSN, WiiWare and XBLA this summer. Instead, the game has been pushed into the back half of the year.
According to a post over on SEGA Europe’s site, the development time of the game has been extended to “ensure overall high-quality throughout the game by continuing to tune, balance, and maintain the kind of polish that an important title like this demands”.
Great that the team is polishing it, not so great that it will be late.
However, on a side note, SEGA did reveal that Episode 1 will hit iPhone and iPod Touch upon release, and you can watch a video of it in action over on Sonic Stadium.
Damn it.

Game’s looking terrible.
Here’s hoping they’re actually going to work on it and make it feel a little more like the traditional games, but I get the impression this is beyond salvageable at this point.

Not that I’m promoting piracy or anything, but Episode 1 was leaked a little while ago onto the torrent sites. Haven’t got it myself, but the comments suggest a pretty finished feeling game.
So like the guy says, maybe Sega are aiming for a insanely high level of polish, or maybe they just want to reduce the time between episode releases and have a few already in the bag before releasing the first.

@8 yeah the full version that was on partnernet was been leaked ages ago, but you need a j-tag 360 to be able to play it. A regular modded 360 won’t do.

Sonic Games are always delayed because of massive bugs and horrible camera crap and such…Now they can’t even get out a 2D Game…The Levels I have seen aren’t worth it…Granny Sonic needs to quit going to the HILLS…time for a new location for that blue chain saw to cut up a rug!!
