Rumor: 2K working on MMO set in BioShock universe
Rumor has it today that the folks at 2K Marin are working on an MMO set within the universe of BioShock.
According to a source close to ” target=”_new”>D’toid, 2K is in an underground lair a secret location, hard at work on the title.
This isn’t the first time the possibility of one has popped up.
Back in March of 2008, Take-Two boss Strauss Zelnick mentioned that MMOs based on both Bioshock and Civ were “potential opportunities” for the company.
So, maybe, just maybe, 2K is finally making good on this.
Then again, pigs could start flying at any moment.
We’ll send 2K a mail, but don’t expect anything other than the canned “we don’t comment on rumors and speculation”.

why would they do that?
It’s bound to fail, WoW is the winner at least til 2012, and then it will be split between WoW 2.0 and TOR and all those other ones 3 people play.
IT WONT MAKE MONEY! JUST DO BIOSHOCK 3 IF YOU WANT TO MILK A FRANCHISE !

That’s a point I’ve always wondered actually just like hardcore games on wii, MMOs except WoW just don’t work and people just seem to lose money on them all the time, so why do they keep trying?
The only viable MMO competitor is TOR which isn’t out yet and it took people this long after WoW to come up with it!

What we need is an Assassin’s Creed MMO. You can set up your own 5 person assassin’s guilds and have never ending missions to kill fools.
