Konami has revealed that it’s to revive the Rush’N Attack franchise this autumn with a sequel called Rush’N Attack: Ex-Patriot.

Ex-Patriot features 2.5D style graphics, and a Cold War storyline taking place in three different enviroments that encompass several different missions.

It is being developed by Vatra, and Kotaku has screens. Go have a look.

Rush’N Attack, also known as Green Beret, was first released in arcades in 1985 featuring a solider killing baddies, and the last game in the franchise was released in 1989, called M.I.A.: Missing In Action.

Ex-Patriot is to be released for XBLA and PSN.

Yeah the footage made me think of Shadow Complex too. If it doesn’t have the Metroid underpinnings I don’t think it will be as good.

I used to play this to death in the arcades, absolutely loved. it at the time. :) Was it really ’85, that worries me…?

Be interesting to see what they do with this…

Looks like a cross between Shadow Complex and Bionic Commando: Rearmed.

Anyway, they’d better be renaming it to Green Beret again over here!
