The Witcher: Rise of the White Wolf still being “considered”

CD Projekt RED has confirmed that the canceled console version of the original Witcher is still being “considered”.

“It definitely is considered. No particular plans though,” said The Witcher 2 senior producer Tomasz Gop, speaking with VG247.

“The project is frozen – lies on a shelf awaiting the right moment. The only thing I could state for sure is that we’d love to pick this project up again.”

For the moment, it looks like The Witcher 2 is heading to consoles, but according to Gop, “Nothing has been promised yet. Nothing has been shown yet. But everything is kept well secret and planned for.”

The Witcher 2: Assassin of Kings is slated for release in early 2011.

I really don’t see this happening anymore, it would be great if the console version is worth it, but i’m not getting my hopes up.

Yeah, doesn’t seem very likely that it’ll ever happen now. Which is a shame. If I ever upgrade my PC I might pick the original up for that instead.

I got the same problem, right now i have a laptop that has..core 2 duo @ 2ghz, 2GB ram and geforce go 7600. It runs the demo kinda crappy, plus…the demo simply shuts off my laptop after five minutes..i shit you not.

Soon i’ll go for a new laptop, and hopefully it’ll run The Witcher well, it’s a Core I3 CPU,4GB ram and a good Radeon card.
