Crackdown 2

GT’s posted up some new footage of one of the multiplayer modes in Crackdown 2, known as Rocket Tag. It’s after the break.

Needless to say, it’s full of Agents jumping about firing rockets at other Agents. It’s just another normal day in Pacific City.

We actually played this on a visit to Ruffian last year, and very much fun it was too. Get to it. Video’s below.

Crackdown was dated last week for a July 9 release in the UK, with a July 6 launch in the US before that.

Well atleast this one has PvP multiplayer. It probably would have greatly helped the first one, what with its terrible plot, repetitive missions and complete lack of anything to do outside of the main campaign (other then races).

Crackdown is a rare title that I wish had gone “darker and edgier” route. It strangely reminds me of 1980s cyberpunk vibe.

Yet videos released so far look nothing like the “the city is infected and you are the cure” E3 09 teaser.

@1 CD1 did have PvP multiplayer, but it was slightly truncated… there were various multiplayer challenges scattered around the map, which when activated took place in quite a confined area. It’s been an age since I last played it, but I’m pretty sure Rocket Tag was one of those challenges. Granted, though, this version here looks a lot more open, and with 4 people allowed on a map rather than the previous ones 2, the challenges (if they still exist in that format) should be a lot more fun.

Also, that was a helicopter, wasn’t it? Sweet!
