GDC Sony press conference liveblog and streaming video – live!

All games and everything else they want to show at E3 2010 thats for 100%

Any real word whether this is just a conference solely for Arc, or one like X10 and Ninty’s recent summit where they’ll announce new games n stuff?

If it’s just about Arc, then I’m not interested.

Yeah, I’m fully expecting a big fat bugger-all-of-interest.

I’m expecting some announcements.

Some stuff needs to be announced for Fall 2010, and 6 months from E3 to release, is not enough for a marketing cycle.

Socom 4 has the be the start of a fall lineup.

If rumours are to be believed Killzone 3 is getting official info this month. Apparently a few jornos have played abit of it in Amsterdam, it featured snow, 3D and motion control.

Wow… Whered you get that from? Do want snow, do want bigger battles and arenas – everything else is great.

Hmm. this could be interesting, looking forward to seeing what announcements they have.

From forums sources. One guy who is apparently ‘reputable’ said that info on the game is coming this month and that it was shown to the press last month.

Meanwhile on a German forum a guy said this:

“2 days ago I was able to play Killzone 3 behind closed doors in Amsterdam and have to say that it looks crazy.

The graphics are still based on the same engine as its predecessor, but was immensely improved.
While the playable areas of the second part of the series were pretty linear, we can assume that there will be wider areas like those of Battlefield BC 2.
What impressed me the most in the 30 minutes were the snow effects. It just looks fantastic how the snow lays down on the weapon and melts when shooting – and all that in 3D!
To be honest, I was a bit sceptical but KZ3 looks phenomenal in 3D, the explosions, the rain and the snow seem to be so real, that hollywood blockbusters like Avatar pale in comparison.
According to Guerilla each exemplar will be shipped with 2 killzone-styled 3D glasses.
I can’t say anything about the controls, because Sony didn’t show anything about them, but KZ3 is targeted to be played with a generic controller or the Arc.

So….. you wont need a TV that costs over a grand to play KZ3 in 3D ? I’ve just purchased a new TV (had too). Buggered if I’m buying a “3D Ready” model.

Im expecting a new game from Media Molecule to be shown probably with the motion controller. Im also expecting KZ 3 as well. Maybe an Infamous 2 annoucnement.

This was an interesting press conference.
Move is a great name.

The pointing doesn’t seem that precise on SOCOM, could affect any RTS endeavours that could turn up.

If they came out with a Wii-esque gun peripheral where you could clip Move into the front/top and then the add on onto a grip type front handle thing where you could move the player it could be quite accurate.
