Super Mario Galaxy 2 dated for June 11 in Europe

Nintendo’s just announced it has dated Super Mario Galaxy 2 for June 11 in Europe.
The news is out of the company’s European event in London today.
It comes on the back of an announcement of a May 23 release in the US by Nintendo of America last night.
A new trailer was released yesterday, alongside a batch of new screens. Looking good.
The game was announced at E3 2009, and is the first time ever a second main 3D Mario game has hit a Nintendo home console.

Why?… Why two months after Japan?
I’d assume there’s only text translation to be done which could have been finished by now.

There’s other localisation to be done too. Like taking out the birdo hostess bars etc.

Nintendo haven’t realised you can do simultaneous worldwide releases these days – remember the delay between the JP and EU releases of Smash Bros Brawl?

No way will I get time to get this and play it now.
E3 will be three days after release, and we’ll be prepping by then.

That date kind of obliges Nintendo to have another Christmas holiday big release – Zelda anyone?

The door’s been wide open for Zelda.
It can’t be anything else.

Looks cool but I’ll probably be reduced to just collecting stars or whatever while my brother plays it. I’ve always sucked at platformers
