PoP: The Forgotten Sands to include PoP Classic exclusively on Wii

Nintendo has announced that Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands will include the 1992 classic Prince of Persia game exclusively on Wii.
Scheduled for May 18 and 20 in the US and Europe respectively, Wii’s the only console version that includes the classic game, according to an announcement at Nintendo’s Media Summit today.
Details on the Wii version of Forgotten Sands were revealed last week.
Game’s looking very prince-like, has co-op, and fills in the seven-year gap between The Sands of Time and the Warrior Within.

Hmmm, so Nintendo is getting into the exclusive content wagon now. Only one word comes to mind: DESPERATION.

They need to sweeten the deal really; Its out on all systems, pretty much everyone is going to take it on PS3/360 (probably even PC) over the Wii version anyday.

It’s probably just the Gamecube version, possibly with some “New Play Control” thrown in for good measure. It would probably be too much work to port the game for the other systems (although a PC version wouldn’t be too much hassle since the original still works aside from some joypad issues).

It’s the original one, not Sands of Time…

Sands of Time included a port of the original though, if you remember. Of course, it was a completely hideous and almost unplayable port of the original, but you can’t have everything, I suppose.
Hopefully for the Wii fans this’ll be a port of the XBLA/PSN “Prince of Persia Classic” rather than that ‘orrible wonky one rehashed.

Ah! According to 1Up it’s the SNES version of Price of Persia that’s being included. That’s pretty good.

Hopefully the HD versions will carry an updated version of The Shadow & The Flame, which is the best PoP game so far, IMHO.

It could come with that downloadable remake that was released some time ago.
