Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands PSP doesn't forget series' roots, goes 2D

After finishing up work on 2008's Prince of Persia, Ubisoft Montreal pulled the game development equivalent of its previous prince's sand-based snafu and took a trip back in series time with The Forgotten Sands.

As it turns out, the team at Ubisoft Quebec City did the same thing, only with more magical time sand. A lot more magical time sand.

Over at the US PlayStation Blog, producer Joel Vignola took the wraps off the Prince's latest pint-sized adventure.

"This IS a unique game built from the ground up specifically for the PSP, this is not a port from any other system. The adventure is all new, the location is new, and the Prince’s powers are all new as well. The only way to experience this adventure is on the PSP," Vignola explained.

Something's different about the Prince in this one, though. Maybe he got a haircut? Lost weight? Dropped an entire dimension? We honestly can't put our finger on it. Maybe you'll have better luck after you check out the debut trailer below.
