You’ll need loads of ammo for Akrid X boss in Lost Planet 2

Capcom demoed a massive four-player co-op battle for Lost Planet 2 yesterday at CES, showing how the Akrid X boss at the end of the second episode will give you a run for your money.

In the game, the Akrid X is a creature your team watches come in from outer space; it resembles a dinosaur with volcano-ish tentacles erupting as you harm its weak points with bullets.

It doesn’t looks as though much strategy will come into play with it, other than switching weapons. All you need to do is unload all the ammo you can muster, and try not to get killed.

1UP has some videos of the demo through here, and the last video is quite funny. You should have a watch.

Games out in Q1 fiscal 2010 by Capcom for PS3 and 360.

i love it. seriously. lp is awesome. i can´t wait for this game. one thing capcom did very well in this game is how the enemys react when getting hit. it´s a lot of fun to see all that orange liquid bursting out of them and to hear them scream. i really like the loading screen mini fights. it even got the multiplayer kill beep which is really cool. it´s these little things that sometimes make a game great fun…there wont only be akrid coop battles for online right? i really hope for the classic mp gamemodes they had in the first game. i was a postgrab addict. i´m pretty sure they already said this will be included but i´m not sure. does anyone know?

yes pc also. was dated for late 2009 first, then febuary 2010 and now it´s just Q1 2010, latest rumors are more like april 2010. so there´s nothing you could rely on right now -unfortunately. i still hope for febuary though. the pc version of the first one was released a little later i think, was the case with the ps3 version for sure and the ps3 port wasn´t great. pc version did fine. mouse/keyboard controlls were actually ok but much better with a gamepad. i played the first lp on 360 and on a gaming laptop and i must say it´s waaaay more fun with the 360 controller for windows, you should think about getting one…i also believe that the online part will be much more fun on 360 as well. if you´re not a complete console hater think about a 360. it´s a nice little machine and not that expensive any more. ok ms you can transfer the money on my account NOW…
