Gas Powered Games' Chris Taylor has told IGN that there will be no map modding for Supreme Commander 2 when it releases in the spring.

He did however stress that the game's engine will be moddable.

Taylor also confirmed that the game will do away with GPGnet, instead using Steam for matchmaking.

The Square Enix-published RTS sequel is due for a release on PC and Xbox 360 on March 16 in the US.

No EU date yet, other then "spring".
