Epic Mickey – first GI scan

Doesn’t look anything like the concept art, which is a damned shame because that was brilliant. Does look very ‘Kingdom Hearts’ with a more cutesy twist. And a bit empty. And the Mickey model is somehow irritating.

But apart from that it’s all good. Ish.

That looks sort of… Bad.

I guess its hard to say for sure till we see it in action, bad first impression though.

Mickey’s character model is horrible! Looks more like Felix the Cat!

I think they were trying to go for this, but left out some key elements, like the wedges in the eyes and white gloves.

The whites of his eyes seem kinda stuck on, it’s weird. Still, I much prefer the retro approach to the pink Mickey from the ’80s and ’90s.

Yikes, not impressed either. I would have loved a new 2d sidescrolling Mickey ala Mickey Mania for XBLA/PSN. I won’t be touching this game.

I’ll wait for a trailer, you never know, that might just be one bit of the game, poorly presented.

It’s too soon to pass final judgment, but the Mickey model in the top-right screen shot (the one with the wide-open staring piercing eyes) is all kinds of disturbing

I was expected some cool steampunk twisted metal robotic world… instead we get Tim Burton light.

Well… this is just one scan of one level at an early stage. Still improvement time.

Better Than Risen

Well THIS is why a lot of people didn’t want this on the Wii.

The Wii isn’t capable of the same graphics that the concept art portrayed, I’m sure the graphics would have been more like the concept art had it been on a next generation console.

Such a wasted opportunity.

I see what you mean, and I partly agree but lets not get into Banjo, I thought it was pretty meh to be honest…

If this was a Steam Punk disney, action adventure game (which I thought it was at first) on the 360/PS3, it would be sold shed loads if it was good…

Other then Mario what platformers have sold well on Wii bugmenot? You seem to be over looking the fact that software sales on Wii are terrible if its not a Nintendo game.

I’m still taken aback with the title.

I don’t see anything in these shots relating to style, detail or level design that would benefit from being on a HD machine.

Varsas has a point really, i just dont like the overall style in those screenshots. I mean if those shots were of a PS360 version i dont think i’d be any more interested.
Ofcourse if it was on a current-gen system (i dont consider the Wii to be one) then atleast it would be a pretty-looking bad style.

On a side-note there NEEDS to be a Twisted Tales Of Felix The Cat game!

He’s *supposed* to look different. The designers said themselves they were going to go with a retro re-design for Mickey.

Personally, I like the screenshots, Unfortunately, they also give the hint that is going to be a rather generic platformer, which I *don’t* like.
